We began as a celebration of the creative Midwest. Today, our fight is bigger. We stand for humans, for creators who choose craft over convenience, originality over automation, and heart over hollow algorithms. In an era flooded with cheap noise, we draw our line in the sand.
We rally the makers, the thinkers, the artists who refuse to hand their imagination to machines. This is a call to arms for quality, for truth, for the messy brilliance only people can create.
We plant our flag and we will not back down. Making Midwest is no longer just about a place, but a battle for creativity itself.
Join us. Because the future belongs to those who make it—by hand and by heart. June 27th, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio.

Making Midwest isn’t just a conference — it’s a creative uprising. We’re not here to celebrate trends or chase tech hype. We’re here to defend the value of human-made creativity in an era overwhelmed by automation. Sponsors join a cultural movement, not just an event.
The event attracts designers, filmmakers, brand leaders, marketers, founders, technologists, educators, students, and creative directors from all over the country. If they care about craft, storytelling, design, or culture — they’re here.
We're expecting 150-250 attendees after the smashing success of our last event in 2024.
You'll be given a table and chair and you're able to set up your display however you'd like within the 6 foot boundry. Setup will begin at 7am on the day of the event and teardown begins at 9:30pm and all should be cleaned up by 10pm.
The process of becoming a non-profit is quite complex and costly, we're in the process of raising the funds needed to do so and our hope is that within the next 5 years we're able to do so.
Absolutely! Shoot us an email at hello@makingmidwest.com and we'll work something out.
